Hey Everyone!

My name is Allen, Joslyn’s fiancé, and I’m very happy to share my first post with you!

But getting to the blog...After 8 months with my fiancé, I’m starting to find that love is the greatest mystery God has given to us to experience. I say this because love is always full, yet for us we are constantly learning what love is and how it works, and we learn to love those around us. From Jesus to my fiancé to my sisters and my brother, to my friends, to the criminal who takes it all from me, I’m constantly being taught to love. The example I use here is my fiancé. I’ve not experienced a greater love than this besides Jesus, yet I’m still learning and growing in it. Love is perfect, but we have to go through the process of learning this love God gives to us. We fight in our hearts to perfect the love we want to take hold of...and we often get caught in an unexpected trap of some sort that hinders the real love we have, and for a while we may go through the motions of that. But should we ask for help, God in his love for us will help us, comfort us, unite us and fight for us and save us so we may return to that simple love. We also must learn to bring each other to Jesus, for there is not one person, not even each other, who can comfort like Jesus can. No one who can save like Jesus can. So we need to teach each other that we need to look to Jesus together and lean on each other as best friends and soulmates who both need Jesus. We need to learn a real trust in each other and in Jesus for love to be real as well. This is the love I’m talking about...all of it is a journey that we don’t understand fully but we never let go of, because love, though it is mysterious, is what we were made for.
