Trusting in God can be hard especially when He does not answer the way we want Him too. It is hard to lower your walls, swallow your pride, and let Jesus take a hold of the steering wheel. Giving your life to Jesus is the very basis of trusting in him. I know for me, it is hard to trust in God because I can not physically see him working in my life, but one thing that is so cool about God is that we do not have to physically see him do his magnificent works. He is at work in all aspects of our life, but we have to let him.

Lets look at Joseph for example, he was a man who surrendered himself to God and put his absolute trust in Him no matter the circumstances. When Joesph was young, he was proud because of his father's status. He bragged constantly not looking how it affected and hurt his brothers. His brothers finally said enough was enough. Joseph was thrown down a dry well and sold into slavery by his brothers. Joseph was sold again in the hands of the Potiphar. Joseph worked hard and soon rose up in the household as overseer of the whole estate, yet Potiphar's wife lusted for Joseph, but he resisted. Mortified, Potiphar's wife lied to her husband saying she was raped by Joseph. Joseph was then thrown into jail. Things could not get any worse for Joseph. Joseph did not know why he was being punished for doing the right thing, but he did not question God. Instead, he worked hard once again and was put in charge of all the prisoners. God then gave Joseph a gift of interpreting dreams. (How cool is that!) Two servants of the Pharaoh were hauled in which they both had dreams, and Joseph interpreted them both. Soon after, both dreams proved to be true. Then, Pharaoh had a dream and came to Joseph. Joseph interpreted the dream leaving the Pharaoh giving Joseph the duty of being in charge of all Egypt. Finally, Joseph got to see his brothers when they came to Egypt for food. Joseph had to prove to his brothers that he was a changed man. Joseph forgave his brothers for what they did to him. His family was finally all together again.

The moral of the story of Joseph was that he had a pretty stinky life, and at any time, he could of gave up on God instead he trusted in Him even more. We all could learn something from Joseph that trusting in God only leads to happiness and greatness. Don't you want to live your purpose that God has given you? To do so, let God hold your hand and put all of your trust in him.

With Love,

Joslyn
