This is the hard part.

Everyone has hard times spiritually. They feel like they are covered in sin, they feel like God is far from them, and they feel like they aren’t being heard, and sometimes this happens at difficult points in their lives. For me, I’ve been going through a time of drought, where I cannot feel God near me like I used to be able to, and it scares me. But I am not willing to lose hope, for I know I am loved, and I know the simple promise God has given to me. John 3:16, the verse even atheists know well, says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever would believe in him shall not perish but will receive eternal life.” This is a simple, yet very simple way of God saying he loves you and refuses to leave you without hope and a way to come to him. The next verse, Hebrews 13:5, states God’s words, where he says, “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” A very clear explanation to my hope, knowing God will never leave me alone or abandon me in my sin. Yet another scripture to lean on is a verse that takes place when Paul feels the sentence of death coming straight to his doorstep, and all Jesus tells him is “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” He is saying to Paul that in his hardships, he can come to Jesus for his grace... the only thing we need. And it is always there, because he will never leave us in our doubts, but will give us strength on his time. These promises are enough for me, and are hopefully enough to you.
Till next time,
Allen
